my childhood
there is only one word which can describe my childhood. the word is“carefree①”that so many today's kids② do not understand, although they have delicious food, beautiful clothes and pretty toys.
my parents never forced me to do anything. i recited a lot of poems and fine articles, but not for performing before their friends and our relatives, just because i enjoyed rhythms③ and words. so i never considered them a burden④. later, when i was in the primary school, the homework was very few and easy to do, and i was never asked to be the top students.
nor did my parents stop me from doing anything. after i finished my homework, i could stay outside for a whole afternoon to do whatever i liked. i used to go swimming in the river in summer, skating on the ice in winter. sometimes i played basketball or football with my little friends. i could read any book, and my parents never examine it before my reading.
sometimes i think my childhood was boring⑤and not unforgettable, but i was really carefree and happy then. what is more important than to give a child a happy childhood?
