王 后 之 死
in her war against the roman invaders, queen boudicca of east england counted on seizing roman food stores when her warriors abandoned their own fields to wage rebellion. however, the roman governor suetonius strategically saw to the burning of the stores. famine thus struck boudicca's army, weakening them.
boudicca fought her last battle at an unknown site. her warriors attacked uphill and, exhausted and hungry, were easily routed by a much smaller force of roman troops. thousands of them were killed. it is said that boudicca returned to her home territory and took poison to avoid roman capture.
a result of boudicca's rebellion was that the romans strengthened their military presence in britain and lessened the oppressiveness of their rule.
