一九 三 九 年 英 国 向 德 国 宣 战 ， 着 名 小 说 家 伊 夫 林 ． 沃 加 入 皇 家 海 军 陆 战 队 ， 后 来 成 为突 击 队 少 校 ， 在 克 里 特 岛 、 北 非 、 南 斯 拉 夫 等 地 作 战 。 有 一 次 ， 他 躲 在 洞 穴 ， 军 方 把 重 要 文 件 空 投 给 他 审 阅 。

那 是 什 么 重 要 文 件 ？ 原 来 是 小 说 《 重 访 布 赖 斯 黑 》 的 校 样 。
【附 注 】 《 重 访 布 赖 斯 黑 》 是 英 国 文 学 名 着 ， 称 为 「 重 要 文 件 」 并 不 为 过 ， 但 战 时 似乎 不 应 劳 动 空 军 运 送 校 样 。 「 校 样 」 英 文 叫 proof 或 galley proof 。 galley 本 指十 七 世 纪 中 叶 开 始 使 用 的 长 方 形 活 字 盘 ， 用 活 字 盘 印 出 来 的 校 样 就 是 galley proof ， 常 略 作 galley ； proof 一 字 起 源 更 早 ， 指 用 印 板 印 出 来 的 校 样 。 今 天 ，排 字 已 改 用 电 脑 ， 但 proof 、 galley proof 等 字 仍 然 沿 用 ， 例 如 ： he had to finish correcting the proofs / galleys / galley proofs of his new book by the end of the month （ 他 须 在 月 底 之 前 把 新 作 的 校 样 改 正 ） 。
in question 即 「 正 被 讨 论 或 考 虑 的 」 ， 例 如 ： the patient in question is a haemophiliac （ 目 下 这 个 病 人 是 个 血 友 病 人 ） 。
